Hi. I've been meaning to write a big - What I'm Checking Out on TV this Fall post. So here it is.
Besides all of this, I'll probably still program Lost, Supernatural & Survivor (heck yeah) onto my DVD Recorder.
Don't know about anything else. But I look forward to the season. And thank God there is nothing on TV's regular season that I am as intense about as I am The 4400.
It's been seeral months now since the networks announced their Fall schedules. So I've had plenty of time to sort through them and figure out what I'm going to check out.
There are four new shows that have me interested.
Heroes on NBC is of most interest. Especially after seeing most of the actors at Comic Con. I'm really rooting for this one to succeed. In order to do that, I think it will have to become a little bit better then the pilot. There's a lot of hype for it, so I think a lot of people are going to check it out. I think it has a good time slot, with only CSI: Miami going against it, so here's hoping that pilot is good enough to get people to come back for more.
The next one is Jericho, another genre show which has potential. (Although, since it's on CBS, it will only get about 3 weeks to prove itself before they yank it.) But I'll stick with it and hope for the best. It also helps that this has a Wednesday 8PM timeslot, which was a blank for me last year waiting for Lost to start at 9. I think I ended up watching America's Next Top Model, which was only moderately entertaining. (But like all reality shows, strangely addicting.)
The third is a show that isn't coming on until November. It is called Day Break, and stars Taye Diggs, whom I loved in the short lived Kevin Hill. This show promises to be a sort of Ground Hog Day meets Crime Procedural. So it's nice someone figured out how to turn a Crime Procedural into a genre show. Day Break will replace Lost for 13 weeks in mid season. I'm actually looking more forward to Day Break then I am to the return of Lost.
Finally, there is a one hour comedy called Ugly Betty which looks hilarious. I've read good things about this one, so I'm hoping that it will succeed in that Thursday night deathslot ABC moved it to. The good thing for it, it's proceeding Gray's Anatomy, which should give it some support. The bad thing is that it is going against Survivor. Survivor is to Scott what The 4400 is to me. Thursday, 8PM on CBS is his sacred holy Don't-Mess-With-Me TV hour. Which means, that I'll have to record Ugly Betty in the other room in order to see it.
